Chapter 2 The Cats Out of the Bag

As Alister carries Ches back to his apartment, Alister relies that this cat looks very different from any other cats he has seen. He has seen cats with grey fur and black stripes but never a grey cat with blueish-green stripes before. But no matter how different it looks, Alister doesn't plan on leaving a stray cat when its hurt and scratched up. Alister has reached to his small apartment and place Ches on top of the sofa. Alister grabbed what he can find; bandages, clothes, bowl of water, and warm blankets to attend to Ches's wounds. After being cleaned and bandaged up, there Ches lies there wrapped in a blanket and still out cold. A few hours have passed and just as Alister has drifted to sleep, Ches waking up with drowsy wondering eyes and looks across the room and recognizes Alister from the ally way. Just sitting there in a lost stare admiring her saviour with gratitude. Then being scared out of it's sleep, Alister rises in a rush scaring Ches to evaporate underneath the kitchen table. Alister panics looking for Ches, he realises a pair of green eyes in the shadows under the table and with a kind caring voice calls Ches out of hiding. "Come here kitty, come on I won't hurt you," reassuring Ches to come to him. With enough trust to convince Ches, she slowly comes forward to the human moving slowly one paw at a time. "That's it, I won't hurt you," as Alister sticks out his hand for Ches to sniff it out. Then for thanking Alister, Ches brushes her furry cheek caressing his palm and fingertips. As there eyes interlock with one another, Ches expresses her Cheshire like smile and Alister looked at Ches with confusion. Through his mind expressed cats can't smile, especially creepy grins like this one can. The only conclusion that Alister can come up with is that he might still be dreaming and it would be best for him to play along with it because after all its a dream. "You must be hungry, I don't have much but I do have milk would you want some?" Ches shook her head yes and Alister found it more weird that she could understand him but still goes along with it. Walking towards the refrigerator for the milk, without his knowing Ches telaports to the cabinets held onto a saucer and telaported on top of the table waiting for Alister with that milk. He turns around searching the room and finds Ches waiting patiently on the table for the milk but didn't even remember he got the saucer down nor hearing Ches jumping up to the table. Ignoring all the puzzling facts, he pours a little bit of the milk for Ches to taste it to see if she likes and without a doubt she cleared it clean. Alister pours more and watches Ches drink away. "Oh my, you must have been terribly hungry huh?" Catching Alister off guard, "Yes thank you, i was very hungry," replied Ches. Looking all confused and puzzled, Alister looked around the room, behind him, and underneath the table. "Wh-wh-who said that?" He heard a reply, " Why I did silly." "Where?" "Down here on the table," said Ches with her smile from ear to ear. Looking at Ches with complete hysterics, Alister panics a little looking at Ches and replies, "That's impossible cats can't talk." Ches evaporates, Alister looks around with terror in his eyes looks around the room and reappears Ches on Alister's shoulders. "But indeed I can talk," replied into Alisters ears, and Alister jumps with fright and quickly turns rushed backwards into a corner. There Ches was floating in mid-air smiling with relief. "Ahhhh, much better then walking like animals." With fright and panic all over his face, he just cannot believe what he is seeing. "Oh please let me wake up from this trippe dream," said Alister as he keeps on pinching his arms to wake up. "This is a dream my handsome friend, your awake and this is real." "What are you?!" "I'm the Cheshire Cat, but please call me Ches its much shorter that way," as she replies to relax poor Alister. "And what is your name my frighten friend?" "A-Al-Al-Alister," he replied nervously. "Cheshire Cat? As in Wonderland Cheshire Cat?" "Oh, so you do know of my home?" as she asked with surprise in her voice. "Only in stories, I didn't think it would be a real place." "But it is a real place," answered Ches. "Allow me to show you my true form." In a mystic swirl, Ches transforms into her human hybrid form from a feline cat to a young adult woman.
